Manu Jain, Vice President, Xiaomi, and Managing Director, Xiaomi India, said “Redmi Note series has been a true disruptor since Redmi Note launch in 2014. Each Redmi Note has redefined high value product by pushing the boundaries of technology and challenging the status quo. We are extremely excited to launch our 64MP Quad camera beast – Redmi Note 8 Pro sets a benchmark for gaming and imaging with the world’s first 64MP camera sensor and Helio G90T chipset.”

He added, “Not just that, we have taken the game forward with MIUI 11 with an even more enhanced user experience, the uber cool Dark Mode and an upgrade across several high utility apps.and features. We are especially thrilled about the Mint Keyboard on MIUI built especially for our Indian Mi Fans, supporting over 25 Indian languages.”

Redmi Note 8 Pro – 64MP Quad Camera Beast

With a powerful 64MP quad camera setup paired with an equally capable chipset, Redmi Note 8 Pro is an absolute beast. The camera setup extends to the front with a 20MP selfie shooter.

The octa-core Helio G90T mobile platform brings unprecedented gaming capability to this segment. With a refreshed Aura Design featuring an exquisite Gamma Green colour and dual Corning® Gorilla® Glass 5, Redmi Note 8 Pro is a rare combination of a beautiful, ergonomic design with beastly insides. A full HD+ 16.5 cm (6.53) Dot Notch display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio headlines the front with thin bezels across all sides. The rear facade of Redmi Note 8 Pro sports 3D curved glass, creating an ergonomic hand feel with a thickness of only 8.8 mm. All-day battery life has been a hallmark of the Note series and this time a 4500mAh battery (18W charger in box) ensures one gets the best of gaming and photography all day long.

Big on computing prowess

Helio G90T features a 6+2 architecture comprising of six ARM Cortex-A-55 cores, clocked up to 2.0GHz, while two Cortex-A76 cores clocked 2.05GHz ensure the heavy lifting is done without breaking a sweat. This is paired with a quad-core Mali G76 GPU clocked at a mighty 800MHz to ensure gaming performance that sets new benchmarks  in  this  segment. This allows Redmi Note 8 Pro to post an impressive AnTuTu V8 score of 284,872 points.

Xiaomi’s improved LiquidCool Technology ensures that peak performance stays for a longer duration by reducing the operating temperature. Paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, Redmi Note 8 Pro makes for a formidable gaming smartphone. An additional WiFi X antenna allows for uninterrupted gaming, and means that Redmi Note 8 Pro ships with TÜV Rheinland’s network latency certification.

64MP Quad Camera setup that goes across perspectives

For the first time ever, the Redmi Note series features a camera array consisting of four cameras. This includes a 64MP main camera, an ultra-wide angle lens with a 120-degree field of view, a depth sensor and a macro lens that allows you to go as close as 2cm to the subject, for photos as well as videos. This makes  Redmi Note 8 Pro an extremely versatile imaging tool, allowing users to capture a multitude of perspectives and scenes.

As the first 64MP smartphone in the world, Redmi Note 8 Pro makes use of sophisticated imaging technology to ensure pictures are captured in a sharp, detailed and extremely colour-accurate manner. In low light, Redmi Note 8 Pro’s main camera automatically triggers Super Pixel, thereby combining information from four pixels into one, giving users 16MP shots with  incredible details.

4500mAh battery with 18W charging out of the box

Addressing user feedback, Redmi Note 8 Pro features a larger capacity 4500 mAh battery, but also comes with support for 18W fast charging over USB Type-C out of the box. What’s more, users will be able to take advantage of 18W fast charging right out of the box.

Redmi Note 8 – 48MP Quad All-rounder

Redmi Note 8 is an all-round upgrade on the very popular Redmi Note 7S, with a 48MP quad camera set up. Equipped with a 6.3” Dot Notch Display with Aura Fluid Design, Redmi Note 8 offers an incredibly immersive FHD+ visual experience that achieves an impressive 90% screen-to-body ratio. The TÜV Rheinland-certified display offers a comfortable viewing experience by filtering out blue light and protecting users from prolonged eye strain.

Users can expect upgraded durability as it also uses Corning® Gorilla® Glass 5 protection — front and back — safeguarding against accidental falls and general wear and tear. Besides, Redmi Note 8 is also covered in P2i’s nano-coating making it splash-resistant.

Redmi Note 8 is a photography powerhouse, sporting a quad camera setup on the rear. Its 48MP ultra high-resolution primary camera features a ½-inch sensor with an f/1.79 aperture and 79.4° field of view. Meanwhile, its 8MP ultra-wide camera with 120° field of view, 2MP macro lens, and 2MP depth sensor join forces to capture stunning images at any distance.

On the front, Redmi Note 8 boasts a 13MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture and built-in AI technology that helps users take a perfect selfie, every time. The front camera also includes a panorama selfie feature — a first for the Redmi Note series — that can capture group images without cropping anyone out.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 665 mobile platform offers great performance while maintaining power efficiency, backed by a 4000mAh battery with 18W charging over Type-C out of the box.

MIUI 11

MIUI 11 significantly upgrades the design element and brings a new set of refined features with a visually enhanced interface with Dark Mode.  MIUI 11 makes efficient use of AMOLED screen capabilities and brings new customisations to the popular Always-on display. MIUI 11 also introduces new dynamic ambient nature sounds for notifications; this innovative ambient sound effects feature has won the prestigious Red Dot design award, an industry first for smartphone software.

Xiaomi also announced the Mint Keyboard for MIUI users, which supports over 25 Indian languages currently. MIUI 11 also brings several utility features such as wireless file sharing, wireless printing, working with documents, and managing tasks which are all available out-of-the-box now. In addition, the new step counter, period tracker, and calculator help make routine tasks convenient.

Stable MIUI 11 will be rolled out in a phased manner starting with Redmi K20, POCO F1, Redmi Note 7, Redmi 7, and Redmi Y3 starting October end. Other models will be upgraded later in the year; the rollout plan will be updated on Mi Community (c.mi.com)
