Samsung, India’s announced the launch of Galaxy M42 5G and bought a knife to a gunfight. The Galaxy M42 5G price starts at Rs 19,999 and comes with an ugly 6.6’’ HD+ Super AMOLED 720p display the only optimistic thing that deserves attention is the Snapdragon 750G.

In-camera department things are as mediocre as Samsung Exonys performance, you get a fancy quad-camera setup with 48MP ISOCELL GM2 sensor, 8MP Ultra-wide lens and 2 5MP macro and depth lens which barely anyone uses.

The Galaxy M42 5G comes with a 5000mAh battery with a 15W charger. The 5000mAh battery will be good for most heavy usage with a long battery backup, however, it is not mentioned how long it will take for a 15W charger to charge that gigantic battery.

You also get Samsung’s Knox which is a defence-grade security platform, to safeguard personal information and data in real-time and Samsung Pay (NFC) for contactless digital payments.

Memory Variants, Availability and Price

Galaxy M42 5G is available in stunning Prism Dot Black and Prism Dot Gray colours and is priced at INR 21999 for 6GB + 128 GB variant and INR 23999 for 8GB + 128 GB variant. Galaxy M42 5G will be available across Samsung.com, Amazon and select retail stores. As part of a special introductory offer, consumers can purchase Galaxy M42 5G at a special price of INR 19999 for the 6GB variant and INR 21999 for the 8GB variant on Samsung.com and during Amazon’s online sale in May.

tl:DR: Don’t buy this device because of terrible price to performance ratio. You can consider other smartphones which are far superior with better performance and pricing.
